Freddy Loves Nancy 4eva: Heather Langenkamp’s New Documentary

Heather Langenkamp (Nancy of Nightmare on Elm Street fame) has a documentary coming out soon called I Am Nancy. The film will take a look back at her last 25 years as the iconic Nancy and discuss the impact of Elm Street on people’s lives.
Wes Craven’s A Nightmare on Elm Street has permeated pop culture since its release in 1984. Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) is one of the most well recognized villains in film history and Langenkamp’s character, Nancy Thompson–one of the most remembered ‘final girls’.

Rogue Pictures’ The Last House on the Left arrives in theaters March 13, 2009, and it’s actually a remake to the second power. What the heck does that mean? It’s my lame way of saying this film is a remake of Wes Craven’s 1972 film, which in turn is a remake of Ingmar Bergman’s 1960 film “Jungfrukällan," a.k.a. “The Virgin Spring.”

The original version of "The Last House on the Left," directed by Wes Craven, came out in 1972. Now there’s a new version of the slasher film directed by Dennis Iliadis, due out sometime in 2009.
