December 16, 2009 by Alison
How I Met Your Mother star Joe Manganiello has been cast in a recurring role on HBO’s True Blood. He’ll be playing Alcide Herveaux, a ‘hot and sexy alpha male werewolf.’ Yes please. Apparently he’ll be another love interest for Sookie, but she said I could borrow him from time to time.
Manganiello joins a slew of newbies on the show including, Cooper Huckabee as Sam’s dad, J. Smith-Cameron as Sam’s estranged mother, Alfre Woodard as Lafayette’s mom and more.
There has been news of bit part casting, including actors Shannon Wells, C.C. Sheffield (The Bold and the Beautiful) and Natasha Alam.

Brad Pitt to Produce Summit’s New Vampire Flick
Do my eyes deceive me or is the man who once starred in front of the camera as one of Anne Rice’s romantic vampires, Brad Pitt, going to produce a vampire film? Nice! Summit Entertainment wants to leave their mark on the vampire genre and will be working with Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B in a new film franchise, Vlad.
The script for Vlad is penned by Charlie Hunnam and Summit is currently in negotiations with photographer Anthony Mandler who is known for his work on music videos (Rhianna, Eminem, The Killers). Pitt will be producing with pal Dede …read more
German Teen Vampire Flick ‘We Are the Night’
I picked this up over at Dread Central. It’s a another teen vampire flick called We Are the Night (Wir sind die Nacht, also being posted as The Dawn) but it has several things going for it. 1. Germans make everything awesome and intense 2. the creepy noises and fang licking tell me there’s a good chance it won’t be entirely lame and 3. the director, Dennis Gansel, has a few horror titles under his belt and that always helps.
Dread posted this synopsis:
One night, 18 year old LENA is bitten by LOUISE, leader of a female vampire trio that are …read more

November 18, 2009 by Alison
Twilight: New Moon opens this Friday, November 20 but Eclipse, the third film in the series, is currently in post-production–gearing up for a June 30, 2010 release date. With the insane popularity of the films it’s no surprise that people are already starting to talk about Eclipse. MTV recently reported that Goth God Peter Murphy from Bauhaus will be making a camera appearance in the film. The next sound you hear will be my heart falling on the floor.
It’s probably no surprise that I have had an infatuation for all things Bauhaus and Peter for ages. From the moment I heard …read more

Oy. Here’s a portion of the interview which hits newsstands tomorrow:
EW: How are you all coping with living in a fishbowl?
Robert Pattinson: It really depends on the mood. When I met you last year [before Twilight came out], I was doing interviews very sporadically and I never got recognized. Now it’s …read more

Exclusive Interview With ‘Sisters Red’ Author Jackson Pearce
You may remember me mentioning author Jackson Pearce in this post about Little Red Riding Hood. Jackson is clever, fun (check out her hilarious YouTube channel) and obviously passionate about writing young adult literature. She recently had her first book published, As You Wish (Harper Collins), about a young girl and her star-crossed romance with a genie. I recently spoke with Jackson whose new book, Sisters Red, is being published in June 2010.
