I gave you a hint about this in July and today I am beyond excited by the news that Tim Burton has officially signed on for a remake of the popular vampire soap opera, Dark Shadows–set to film in 2010. Tim Burton confirmed with horror sources at Comic-Con that his next movie will be Warner Bros. Pictures adaptation of Dark Shadows, starring Johnny Depp.  Holy cow I love that TV series!  Depp as Barnabas Collins–it doesn’t get better than that.  Depp has stated he had a childhood obsession with the gothic soap opera, which ran from June 27, 1966 to April 2, 1971.

Fans of Barnabas Collins and the series, Dark Shadows must be squealing in delight, as Tim Burton has been confirmed to direct the cinema remake, amid swirling rumors that Johnny Depp will portray the fanged lead, Collins.
