New Clips for Scorsese’s ‘Shutter Island’

Two new clips arrived from Martin Scorsese’s latest film, Shutter Island, which is one movie I am very much looking forward to. The ominous and almost Gothic setting is perfect for Laeta Kalogridis’ story about two U.S. marshals who investigate the mysterious disappearance of a murderess from a hospital for the criminally insane, that looms like a fortress on the island.
The cast includes includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, Michelle Williams, Patricia Clarkson and Max von Sydow. Of course the press release fails to mention actors Elias Koteas and Ted Levine whose performances will undoubtedly add to the creepy …read more

‘Let Me In’ Begins Production in New Mexico

Matt Reeves’ adaptation of the Swedish vampire flick, Let the Right One In, started principal photography this week in New Mexico.
Updates to the cast of Let Me In include Elias Koteas (the policeman), Cara Buono (Owen’s mother) and Sasha Barrese (Virginia). They will join the previously announced Kodi Smit-McPhee and Chloe Moretz in the lead roles of Owen and Abby (changed from Oskar and Eli) as well as Richard Jenkins who plays the guardian of Abby.

Creepy Critic: ‘The Fourth Kind’ Review

I was able to catch an early screening of Universal Pictures’ The Fourth Kind in New York City last weekend and have been avoiding writing my review since then. There were parts of the movie that I found absolutely frightening but the film’s gimmicky technique was completely distracting which left me annoyed and disappointed.
‘The fourth kind’ is a term used to describe an alien abduction. The film is set in modern day Nome, Alaska where supposedly since the 1960’s, a large number of the population is reported missing every year.
