IFC Films Buys Rights to Controversial Thriller ‘The Killer Inside Me’
Michael Winterbottom’s crime-thriller, The Killer Inside Me, sold to IFC Films for around $1.5 million this weekend at the Sundance Film Festival. Given the film’s controversial buzz this seems like the perfect fit for IFC who also picked up Lars Von Trier’s Antichrist at Cannes in 2009. The film stars Casey Affleck, Jessica Alba, Kate Hudson, Simon Baker, Bill Pullman, Ned Beatty and Elias Koteas. IFC Films will be releasing the movie in late summer through its theatrical and VOD platforms.
The Killer Inside Me is based on Jim Thompson’s novel, told from the point of view of a sociopathic, small-town …read more

Creepy Critic: ‘Antichrist’ Review
Is it possible to hate the artist but love the art? This was the conversation I recently had with friends over dinner. Of course, Roman Polanski’s recent arrest by Swiss police was mentioned. And then I brought up Lars von Trier’s latest film Antichrist, which elicited controversy at the Cannes Film Festival and beyond.
A leader of the contentious (and oft called pretentious) Dogme 95, producer of hardcore porn (Zentropa) and self proclaimed best director in the world–von Trier is truly a man of extremes. People either hate him or think he’s an absolute genius. He has admitted to suffering from …read more
Lars von Trier’s ‘Antichrist’ Trailer
There has been a lot of talk surrounding Lars von Trier’s new film, Antichrist. Check out the trailer below.
After the death of their child, a grieving couple (Willem Dafoe & Charlotte Gainsbourg–the only actors in the film) retreat to their cabin in the woods where they encounter strange occurrences–and the darker side of nature unfolds. The film is told in four chapters with a prologue and epilogue.
Gainsbourg won the 2009 Cannes Film Festival award for Best Actress. Reviews so far have been positive as well as controversial over what some say is misogynistic and sexually violent. This is nothing Von Trier hasn’t …read more
Willem Dafoe Giving "Antichrist" His Comeuppance?
August 13, 2008 by Alexandra
If anyone can give the devil his due by kicking him in the rear, and sending him crying back to hell, it has to be Willem Dafoe. He is tapped to play the lead role in Lars Von Trier’s 2009 release, called Antichrist.
Best known for his roles in Platoon, Spiderman films, and Shadow of The Vampire, Dafoe’s trademark has always been that of a fearless actor. In Antichrist, he portrays a husband who has lost his son in a tragedy, and he and his wife (Charlotte Gainsburg) go to a cabin…in the woods…to mourn their loss. Of course, some …read more
