The film “Lat den ratte” features the story of a young boy and his first love, who happens to be a vampire living next door. A mysterious killer is also mixed into this. You can see the amazing and slightly disturbing trailer here at Moviebox. The film has garnered some great reviews.

If you wondered about the real caliber of films presented at Tribeca, you screamstress monster-mask aren’t alone. In light of the remake and sequel beatings we’ve gotten over the years, horror fans are starving for something original, entertaining, and maybe even a bit clever.

Here’s a lineup of Tribeca’s 2008 horror movie picks presented this year:

From Within - A modest but extremist evangelical town becomes overrun with strange suicides. Stars Elizabeth Rice, Thomas Dekker, Laura Allen and Rumer Willis. (This one looks promising.)

Dying Breed - Four friends who are in the Australian bush deal with mysterious murders, and the legend of a cannibal and an extinct Tiger may be the key.

Killer Movie - A reality TV director deals with real life murders of his crew as he tries to film a reality show. (horror/comedy slasher).

Cottage - Another horror comedy featuring two brothers, their unwilling hostage and a foray into the wrong farmhouse.
