Getting your latest horror fix in book form can be a challenge, especially if 
you’d rather not carry around a book. You can download free ebooks, or audio books from various sites online. Although these listed below are not the only ones around, I’ve used them, and feel comfortable recommending them.
Project Gutenberg is an online book catalog that serves as a huge storehouse of many books, available in various languages. Books can be downloaded in HTML, plain text, or a special format called Plucker, used on smart organizers and palm phones. My favorite search there is for books in the horror category. You can also download books in an audio format when available.
ManyBooks.Net is another option, as it offers free ebooks for your PDA, iPod and eBook reader. There is also a link for books that can be added to your cell phone. Works from authors such as H.P. Lovecraft, Bram Stoker, and Mary Shelley can be found in the Horror category here.

SimplyAudioBooks.com - Here you can buy or rent from a big selection of the latest releases as well as old favorites. There is also a free section, which usually features about 10 or so selections that are mostly from classic literature.
LibriVox is my all-time favorite place, whether for listening or downloading. Volunteers record chapters of books that are in the public domain, and they also offer a New Releases Podcast to help users keep abreast of new additions.
