Screamstress Comments Policy
I want to welcome all new and current readers to Screamstress. Horror is on the uptake, despite the surge in gas prices, and all those crazy reality shows. What am I saying? The industry has even scared up a few horror reality shows. Go figure! So that this site is enjoyable for all visitors, I thought now would be a good time to make a small Screamstress comments policy.
The purpose of comments, of course, is to allow site visitors to add to the conversation. I welcome and appreciate all commentary from anyone, and think it’s important to make your voice heard. It makes this site and this part of the horror community better in general.
Links that are relevant to the site, and preferably the post where placed, are greatly encouraged so that readers get a better experience.
- However, if you add a link other than in the URL field, it’s likely the link will be edited out, or the comment considered spam, especially if it’s not relevant to the post topic.
- If you add your name (or nickname) in the name field, it’s highly appropriate. However, if it’s the name of a web site or organization, your comment may get caught in the wake of my spam catcher.
That’s only because some readers feel that they are getting into the spammy (aka seedy) side of commenting when it’s no longer a person talking, and that feeling is akin to what you’d experience if you were walking down the street, and all sorts of hawkers began calling to you, selling their wares.
Comments should stand on the their own merits. I try to follow these same positive guidelines when I comment at other sites, and think it makes for a better experience all around.
I’m sure some of you have been to an online forum or site, and because there was no moderation, the whole place was simply… bad. To that end, I will say that although there has been an upswing of a few bad apples, for the most part, our visitor comments have been amazingly beautiful! So what do you think? Do you agree or disagree?
