The Screamstress - Horror & Paranormal

Paranormal TV Shows You Need To See

by Alexandra on March 24th, 2008

screamstress-2-llogo I think broadcast TV has never been as good as it is right now. Years ago, you had to wait until late at night, or the weekend to catch a good ghost story, or monster movie. These days, the offerings are wide and they vary, particularly in serialized shows. Here are the hottest paranormal TV shows you need to see:

Ghost Whisperer
Melinda Gordon (Jennifer Love Hewitt) communicates with ghosts who cling to the living to complete unfinished business, business which prevents them from leaving the earthly plane. Melinda acts as an intermediary between ghosts and the living people they haunt.

What is unique about this series is that it’s inspired by the work of real life ghost communicators, and each story is different. At times you are scared out of your wits and other times, you want to laugh or cry. I much prefer the scarier episodes but I believe this series has something for everyone. Ghost Whisperer airs on Fridays at 8:00 PM on CBS.

Medium
Alison Dubois (Patricia Arquette) is a young wife and mother who sees visions Medium's Patrica Arquette of dead people, communicates with them, and can read other’s thoughts. She’s been working for the District Attorney as a part-time consultant using her abilities to solve some of the most chilling cases. This is a critically acclaimed series, as well as a very chilling drama. Medium airs on Mondays at 10:00 PM ET on NBC, with a new episode tonight!

Supernatural
Two brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester (Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles), fight for the side of good against paranormal evil, and the fight stems from losing their mother 22 years ago to a demonic force. Rallied and trained by their father, they’ve become soldiers, searching for the mystery that has affected their lives in so many ways. Supernatural has a huge following, and the brothers have fought all types of evil, which is one of the things that makes this show so compelling. Supernatural airs on The CW, and returns on April 24 with new episodes!
