Thanks to all in the Twilight community who sent in their Breaking Dawn images! The results are in, and fans of Stephenie Meyer’s Breaking Dawn seemed to have a great time this past Friday at their respective book release parties.
From seeing the images, there was more than books involved. Some parties had live music, others had costume contests, and of course, expensive caffeinated drinks were the rule, since many took place at Barnes And Nobles! Check out the images after the cut:
Horror helmer John Carpenter and Nicholas Cage are teaming up for a new non-horror movie called Scared Straight. Reportedly, the story follows a youth who is sent to prison for a program, aptly called Scared Straight. During a prison riot, he is taken hostage, and Cage’s character, who is already sentenced to prison for life, plots to get him out of the fiasco, living and breathing.
It’s awesome that Cage is getting back into the prison gear, as you may recall he was in the Con Air, and later, Face/Off with John Travolta. In both of those roles, Cage looked right at home. Not that I don’t like him as the treasure hunter/historian guy Ben Gates, but it’s nice to see Cage being the prison go-to guy! He’s definitely got the knack for it, portraying the one to have around in a disaster.
Kudos for Carpenter getting involved in a project he must love. Prison is scary enough without the horror effects. As for the merits of this prison program? Sounds like being taken hostage during a prison riot could certainly deter a lot of youths from any criminal ways.
The film Shutter stars Joshua Jackson, Rachel Taylor, Megumi Okina and David Denman, and centers on a photographer and his new wife who live in Japan, and their experiences in relation to ghost photography.
Shutter is a classic tale of ghostly revenge via the use of spirit photography.
The vampires will be out this Friday night, August 1, just after sunset, frequenting bookstores and convention halls around the country, awaiting release of author Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight” Breaking Dawn book.
