Night Of The Living Dead Action Figures Released

Forget G.I. Joe and Barbie for now guys, because the real deal in action figures is here. To help commemorate the 40th Anniversary of Night Of The Living Dead, EMCE Toys teamed with MEGO to release poseable horror action figures based on the characters from the 1968 cult film, Night Of The Living Dead. These figures will be available starting in June in your local comic book and pop culture shops, online and at the horror conventions for only $17.99.

You can now have the Graveyard Zombie from the opening scene of Night Of The Living Dead (portrayed by Bill Hinzman), and Ben (portrayed by Duane Jones), the rifle-toting hero. All the figures are approved by the actors or their respective estates, so this is something really special for the collectors and fans alike.

These two pictured above will be available in June 2008, and two more figures will be released later this year: Judith O’Dea as “Barbra”, and Kyra Schon as the “Karen Cooper Carpenter Zombie”. I can’t wait to see the girls!

MEGO is the toy company responsible for this wonderful release. Notably, MEGO had closed it doors in 1982, but not before creating some pretty amazing works such as the the bridge of the U.S.S. Enterprise and a memorable Batman figure. If you have these, they may be pretty valuable!
