"Moonlight" Fans Are Out For Your Blood

Although fans of the CBS series Moonlight have new episodes to look forward to this month, they are not willing to trust there will be a second season of this dark series. Sources say however, that this horror TV series is in no danger of cancellation.

Just to make sure that Moonlight is back for a season 2, fans have united with YouChoose.net and The Red Cross to donate blood…yes blood, in a nationwide drive to garner support for the show.

Moonlight lead Alex O’Loughlin was so moved by the fans, he’s agreed to become a spokesman for the Red Cross. How about that? A vampire as the spokesman for a blood drive!

So, are the networks making us all crazy, or are we making them crazy? After the cancellations of series such as CBS’s Jericho, and the fervor created with others, such as The 4400, and The Dead Zone, is this an overreaction on the viewers part? Some would say the viewers are on the right track, and maybe the networks should get used to this sort of thing.

And besides…would a big network really cancel a show after their viewers have literally opened a vein for it? It’s something to think about.

    Thank you for writing about the Moonlight Blood Drive and spreading the word! As you can see, we are a loyal bunch of fans. Our show ~ cast, crew & writers ~ mean a great deal to us. I happily admit to being addicted :) No other show has ever compelled me to leave comments all over the Internet, chat with critics/reviewers, pester the network and even create my own blog dedicated to it. Only two weeks left to endure until it returns and we get our MickFix!

    Thanks Kandyegirl…I think it’s great when TV viewers are dedicated, and am so glad to have you all on my side. I love the show obviously, and I think your eloquent actions to ensure a 2nd season have touched some nerves in a good way. Bravo!

    moonlight is my absolute favorite show.. there should definitly be a second season!!!! jason is very cute
