It’s Alive: Gives New Meaning to Don’t Wake The Baby

by Alexandra on April 30th, 2008

In honor of Mother’s Day which fast approaches, take a look at this fun trailer for the new 2008 remake for It’s Alive. Directed by Josef Rusnak, this 1970’s horror cinema remake stars Bijou Phillips (Saw: Part II), James Murray (Primeval TV series), and Skye Bennett (Torchwood). Read more slightly spoilery info below.

You might just decide that this young mother is the Ultimate Mom!

I’ll try not to spoil this remake here, but I love the premise of this film. I saw the first movie years ago when I was probably too young to see it. All I could say then was “wow”. I’ve never seen babies in the same light since then. Will this remake explain how two healthy people can create a monster of this magnitude?

I also got the impression that the baby was not so much scared as he was hungry. The scene from the 70’s version with the milkman has stayed with me all these years. It’s probably good that having the milkman deliver is no longer a common occurrence.

The film is scheduled for release this year, and is in post-production status per IMDB. Looks like it might not be a good movie for anyone who is expecting to deliver a baby anytime soon!
