Ghost Whisperer: Haunting A Sci-Fi Crowd Near You?
Ghost Whisperer is getting an even bigger audience now that SCI FI has purchased cable rights, and the series will begin its debut in 2009. Ghost Whisperer which stars Jennifer Love Hewitt, is an Emmy nominated series.
It follows the story of Melinda Gordon, a woman who communicates with the dead…those who still have earthly business. Interestingly, this series explores the spiritual side of life and death. The major attractions of this series are the storylines, and the use of special effects.
As a longtime fan of the series, I think it’s a great addition to SciFi, and will fit in quite nicely with the rest of the paranormal series such as Ghost Hunters.
CBS also opened its library and made another horror show available, Friday The 13th: The Series. It features a cursed antique shop, and how three friends work to retrieve all the cursed items, many times risking their own lives.
The network is pretty happy to have Ghost Whisperer in its arsenal, as evidenced by remarks from Thomas Vitale, SCI FI’s Senior Vice President of Programming and Original Movies. He says the show will be attractive to their current paranormal audience, and bring more women viewers to the network as well. In the meantime, you can still catch Ghost Whisperer on its Friday night slot on CBS (before Moonlight).
