Supernatural Convention

If you didn’t get to the Supernatural convention this past weekend, you missed a lot of fun. CW Source has the highlights, and I will say after reading them, Jensen and Jared have either been together way too long, or they were separated at birth. Not only do these guys know how to work a crowd together, they are quite charming individually in their own right.

They each took the stage separately, and together, and responded to fans. Both answered all sorts of questions, such as what monster each would like to see written into the script, why neither of them have any tattoos, and who between the two takes the longest to get ready in the mornings. In case you were wondering, according to Jensen, “Jared is the girl”.

Brock Kelly to Play Young Dean Winchester

Actor Brock Kelly has been tapped to portray a young Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) in the January 29 episode called After School Special. The episode will offer a view of the brothers during their high school days. In it, both are facing yet another move to a new school, as their demon-hunting dad gets a new tip. Colin Ford will portray the young Sam, as he has in a previous episode

We’ll also get to see young Sammy being looked after by his brother! Thankfully, some things never change. Fans have been weighing in on whether Brock Kelly actually looks like a young Dean, and some of the responses have been quite surprising.

Supernatural Holiday Hiatus & Latest Episode

You should also know that Supernatural is going be on a short hiatus after this Thursday’s new episode, called Heaven And Hell. In it, Sam and Dean learn why the angels want to kill Anna. With Alastair and his demons on her trail, the brothers try to help by giving her a hand with her past. After the holidays, the new episodes will be begin again, in January!

In the meantime, you can catch up on the delicious repeats that are offered up during the holidays, starting on November 27 with the season opener, Lazarus Rising.

The video features the UK band called The Script, and some amazing scenes from the show. Many fans have had much to say about the recent events on the series in regards to the relationship between these two lovebirds.

Show creators are assuring fans the next step is to give them more of what they want, but in a different way. The latest update over at TV Guide is that they are “rebooting” Jim and Melinda’s relationship in this Friday’s new episode, called Heart And Soul.  You can see a short sneak peek in this next video. It features a scene between Hewitt and Camryn Manheim as Delia:

The quandry has been how the relationship can go on if Jim is truly dead. Show creators have promised that Jim and Melinda are getting a second chance, and it seems many fans are waiting to see how this will be done, however some have either sworn off watching the series, or are just not happy, and are having “believability” issues with the plot.

I give the show creators credit for reaching out to the fans (specifically, online fans) to let us know what’s going on with the show. After all, how many times have we seen the complete opposite in that regard? In the meantime, we’ll be watching!

In this interview, he doesn’t talk about his role in Little Ashes, but he does go into the experiences of being so popular. Other stars have done it, and evidently, fans and movie makers are not squeamish about their favorite stars portraying homosexuals. Robert Pattinson, star of the upcoming teen vampire romance film, Twilight, is set to portray the artist Salvador Dali in the Paul Morrison film, Little Ashes.

The film depicts the life and passionate romance between Dali and his painter friend. What’s interesting is that Pattinson has a love scene in the film with his co-star Javier Beltran.

Like some of you, I was a tiny bit surprised (just a little…) about hearing this before his Twilight debut. After all, it took some of us a while to get over Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliff being in the nude play. If Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal can do it, then why not another A-list star, like Pattinson?

In the meantime, fans are more than excited to see Pattinson in next week’s premiere of Twilight, and who can blame them? They have a talented 22-year-old English actor portraying an impassioned vampire, in a story that touches the hearts of many fans.

In New Moon, the main character Bella befriends and seeks solace with a werewolf after Edward leaves town to protect her from other vampires. In Eclipse, Bella faces a tough decision regarding the love of her life, and must choose. In Breaking Dawn, Edward and Bella face the uncommon challenges of marriage.

Summit has acquired rights to all three books. It’s no wonder with pre-ticket sales of Twilight more than exceeding expectations, and the buzz. Melissa Rosenberg is an Emmy nominated writer, and has served as executive producer for some amazing TV shows such as Dexter, The O.C. and The Magnificent Seven.

She also co-wrote the screenplay for the film, Step Up, a film about a troubled youth and a ballet dancer who develop a friendship and attraction for each other while at the Maryland School of Arts.

Since the premiere of HBO’s True Blood back in September, the show has performed increasingly and strongly. The first 5 episodes have averaged nearly 6.5 million viewers a week.

Last Sunday night’s episode drew 2.35 million viewers according to Nielsen ratings, and this series is showing no signs of slowing down. Fans should know that the show has been renewed for a second season, will begin production early next year, and debut in the summer of 2009.

Whether it’s the romance between Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), the local mind-reading waitress, and Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer), the 173 year-old vampire, or the unsolved mystery of the Bon Temps murders, the series has kept its promise of being funny, scary and sexy, all in one neat package.

Now that Season 2 is confirmed, fans probably anticipate a whole lot of questions that will need answering. For example, what will the vampires do to those in town who’ve been taking advantage of them? Who will side with the vampires, and ultimately, can vamps and humans continue to peacefully co-exists in this “tranquil” town?

A teenage attraction to a vampire might sound familiar, but in the case of FEARnet’s The Dark Path Chronicles, the story takes place on a whole new level, literally. This 7 part web series, created specifically for FEARnet, features a young girl, Samantha, who hears voices.

What she hears is the call of Jurgen, a former Nazi soldier, and vampire, who has been “asleep” for 75 years.  He is now awakened, and pulled into a conflict with two other powerful vampires. This all takes place in a parallel reality, called the “Dark Path”, and along the streets of the Los Angeles.

The vampires in this case use the Dark Path to travel discreetly. Also it seems any being who had mastered the occult can travel this “path”. Two of the great things about the series are the Goth-metal music, and the stunning visuals. The musical artists featured in this case include Junius, and Prophet 7:13. Episodes 1 and 2 are currently out for our enjoyment!  You can also see the complete episode if you have Comcast OnDemand.

If you watch the series, you know that his character Jim is husband to Melinda Gordon (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and is a medic at Mercy Hospital.

The show is currently in season 4, and airs on Fridays, at 8:00 PM on CBS. If you’d like to know some of Melinda Gordon’s secrets, you can flip through the pages of her interactive personal diary here.

The latest episodes have been moving the plots along quite nicely. Notably, last night’s episode, Imaginary Friends and Enemies had some surprises, and amazing guest stars including Bahar Soomekh (Crash, Saw III, IV and V), Ariel Winter (Speed Racer), and Brennan Elliott (The 4400). The episode features a little girl’s imaginary friend who decides to disrupt a wedding.

The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror XIX airs this Sunday, November 2 on Fox at 8:00 PM. This year’s ghoulish episode features gigantic transforming robots, celebrity killing for charity, and the Grand Pumpkin.

Join Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Maggie and the rest of the denizens of Springfield as their lives are again melded into what could be called the Twilight Zone. This episode also features Kang & Kodos, Ralph Wiggum and Krusty The Clown.

The preview looks amazing, and for a 30 minute long episode, it seems to be full of vampires, monsters,  zombies, and even Homer visiting with our favorite aliens, and a bit of political humor.

The Simpsons is in its 20th season, and is the longest running comedy in television history.
