FEARnet’s "The Dark Path Chronicles": Alternative Vampire Tale
Vampires are just sexy! Look at any good TV or cable network now, and you’ll find one. Mary Lambert, the director of Pet Sematary has a treat for us. If you’re a video maven like me, you might have seen this around the Internet. Watch The Dark Path Chronicles, a web series, at FEARnet for free! you can check out this first episode here, and decide if this is your cup of blood, or tea:
A teenage attraction to a vampire might sound familiar, but in the case of FEARnet’s The Dark Path Chronicles, the story takes place on a whole new level, literally. This 7 part web series, created specifically for FEARnet, features a young girl, Samantha, who hears voices.
What she hears is the call of Jurgen, a former Nazi soldier, and vampire, who has been “asleep” for 75 years. He is now awakened, and pulled into a conflict with two other powerful vampires. This all takes place in a parallel reality, called the “Dark Path”, and along the streets of the Los Angeles.
The vampires in this case use the Dark Path to travel discreetly. Also it seems any being who had mastered the occult can travel this “path”. Two of the great things about the series are the Goth-metal music, and the stunning visuals. The musical artists featured in this case include Junius, and Prophet 7:13. Episodes 1 and 2 are currently out for our enjoyment! You can also see the complete episode if you have Comcast OnDemand.
