"Dark Knight" Stars Talk About Ledger’s Joker
Debut of The Dark Knight is just a few weeks away, and co-stars of the late Heath Ledger have been weighing in on what it was like to work with him, and sharing reflections on his role as The Joker.
Actors, Christian Bale, Aaron Eckhart, Gary Oldman and Maggie Gyllenhaal were on hand and interviewed by Access Hollywood. In this video, they all share some insights about Ledger’s personality and work ethic. Have you ever wondered exactly what goes into portraying a dark character such as this?
The film was already highly anticipated for its dark theme and Christian Bale’s performance, and Ledger’s untimely death had such an effect on fans that the film will no doubt be remembered forever.
Anatomy of A Killer
So, how does an actor prepare for portraying the role of a dangerous psychopath like the Joker?
It’s been said that Ledger’s work in this film is masterful. Much talk has been made of how he prepared for the role.
It’s been reported that some of his inspiration for the role are from the films, A Clockwork Orange, and Sid Vicious. He also spent a whole month living alone in a hotel room to work on the psychology, mannerisms and voice of the character.
Christopher Nolan, writer and director of the film, was quoted as saying that he wanted Ledger as The Joker “because he’s fearless”.

I loved Heath Ledger’s work. i will miss him alot, but i know the movie will kick some major butt, so watch out now!!!!!!!!!!!
