Exclusive: Interview with ‘Hellboy’s’ Peter Briggs and Storyboards from ‘Panzer 88′
February 12, 2010 by Alison
Peter Briggs is up to his ears in supernatural ooze. He’s currently working on Mortis Rex, which tells the story of a disgraced Roman war hero who comes face to face with an otherworldly beast. Last week we learned that the Hellboy co-writer is gearing up for Panzer 88, a character-driven, supernatural thriller–this one set inside a German King Tiger fleeing Russia during World War II. The soldiers also happen to be fleeing a centuries-old, malevolent creature that has other plans for them.
I recently had the opportunity to talk with Briggs, who divulged further details on Panzer 88’s story and …read more
Interview with ‘Psych:9′ Director Andrew Shortell
January 27, 2010 by Alison
A young woman seeks out the mundane after a troubled past and finds peace in a hospital alone at night, collating patient records. That is, until a series of unsettling events leads her to believe the hospital may be connected to a number of recent murders in the area. To get to the truth, Roslyn must solve the mystery of her own disturbing past.
The first clips for UK horror-thriller Psych:9 were released earlier this month and I recently had the opportunity to talk with director Andrew Shortell about the film that stars Sara Foster (The Big Bounce) as Roslyn, Cary …read more
Sasquatch’s Heart (and Hair) is in Pennsylvania
January 25, 2010 by Alison
Pennsylvania will never cease to amaze me. In Philadelphia, you can find yourself in a gentrified neighborhood but within a few short blocks end up in a complete war zone running for your life. In the surrounding Philadelphia area, cutesy Victorian row homes are replaced within miles by dilapidated shacks, cars on cinder blocks and a few chickens running around the front yard. Cue banjo music here. Apparently, Pennsylvania is also a hot spot for Bigfoot sightings, with Clearfield and Jefferson counties accounting for most of Pennsylvania’s run-ins with the furry fiend.
Eric Altman, director of the Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society (respect …read more

The synopsis:
“One Morning in New England, 1940, the entire population of Friar New Hampshire – 572 people – walked together up a winding mountain trail and into the wilderness. They left behind their clothes, their money, all …read more

Interview With Lance Henriksen: Part 2
January 5, 2010 by Alison
Here is part two of my interview with Lance Henriksen. Part 1 can be found here and part 3 will be posted soon.
Alison: You reunited with Aliens co-stars Bill Paxton and Jenette Goldstein for Near Dark…
Lance: God, that was fun.
Alison: I could tell! [Both laugh] I’ve always thought it was less about vampires and more about a Romeo and Juliet family/romantic rival theme. Do you agree?
Lance: Sure I do. After that movie was done, I went to the producers and wanted to do a prequel to that movie. The critical question he asked me was, ‘Lance, why would anyone want …read more
Interview With Lance Henriksen: Part 1
January 1, 2010 by Alison
Lance Henriksen’s filmography is a mile long and he always has a dozen projects in the works at any given time. Like many of the characters he has portrayed throughout his career, his energy is fierce and unyielding. Cool confidence and the wisdom of age cannot betray his passion for the challenges of acting and of life. The gravel of his voice is more soothing than distressing; words are impressed upon you with the solemnity of a person who is sharing some secret knowledge only you are privy to. The deep creases of a weathered brow might be evidence of …read more
More Delays for ‘The Wolfman’
December 29, 2009 by Alison
Universal Pictures’ The Wolfman producer Scott Stuber spilled the beans with Total Film Magazine regarding some ongoing delays the production has seen, which is making me very nervous about the finished product. If they can pull this film off it’s going to be amazing, but if not–I have little faith for the other Universal remakes they have on tap.
Stuber had this to say about the special effects which are being done by An American Werewolf in London’s Rick Baker. “The visual effects work was so complex that some of the stuff wasn’t ready. There were so many textures we had …read more
