‘Perros Muertos’ Brings on the Zombies and…Rapeseed Oil?

‘Perros Muertos’ Brings on the Zombies and…Rapeseed Oil?

Yeah, I’m one of those immature idiots who giggles every time I see the word rapeseed listed on the ingredients of something. It’s really just a form of canola oil that contains all the good-for-your-body omega fatty acids. Apparently in Koldo Serra’s new film Perros Muertos (Dead Dogs), rapeseed oil is a catalyst for a zombie outbreak.
Cocacolo is a petty criminal who robs a bank and then flees south. At the same time a family is leaving Northern Spain for the holidays. The group ends up meeting and banding together against a group of zombies that have arisen due to …read more

Trailer for Animated Zombie Flick ‘A.D.’

I love the undead just as much as the next horror fiend but it feels like the zombie market has been saturated with the same old stuff lately. Perhaps Ben Hibon’s animated zombie flick, A.D., can help stir things up a bit.
There aren’t many plot details to uncover at this point but A.D.’s creator, Haylar Garcia, recently spoke to ZombieInfo about the film:
“One day I realized that almost all zombie films, though cool, seemed to have such a modest scope. I suddenly wanted to write a screenplay that had the feel of a huge action flick coupled the macabre charm …read more

‘The Violent Kind’ Producer Gets ‘Stripped’

The Butcher Brother’s latest feature, The Violent Kind, was one of Sundance’s most anticipated films for horror fans and now the film’s producer, Jeffrey Allard, is ready to work on a new indie feature, Stripped. Allard will be teaming up with producer Adam Donaghey for what is being described as a “post-feminist horror film.”
Stripped is being written by Justina Walford and John Wildman. This marks Wildman’s first time in the director’s chair, after recently giving up his position as Head of Press and Public Relations at AFI. Allard has confirmed that scream queen hottie, Tiffany Shepis (Night of the Demons …read more

Robert Kirkman’s ‘The Walking Dead’ Pilot Gets the Green Light!

Back in August I told you about AMC’s plan to turn Robert Kirkman’s zombie comic, The Walking Dead, into a live action television series. Well according to the boys at Bloody-Disgusting, it sounds like AMC loved the pilot and is giving it the green light! The series is written and directed by Frank Darabont (The Mist). Gale Anne Hurd of Valhalla Motion Pictures and David Alpert of Circle of Confusion will executive produce.
The Walking Dead graphic novel series follows survivors of a zombie apocalypse as they struggle to readjust to their new lives and stay alive. Kirkman’s story boasts strong …read more

Italian Zombies Do It Better: ‘Eaters’

If you’re similar me and worship the likes of Fulci, Soavi, Lenzi and Girolami for the fantastic zombie flicks they put out then you’ll be happy to hear that Marco Ristori and Luca Boni’s tasty zombie fllm, Eaters, will be arriving to theaters soon. The world can use always more Italian zombie movies! The film stars Guglielmo Favilla, Alex Lucchesi, Steve Sylvester, Rosella Elmi and Richard Burton. No, not the dead Richard Burton, but how great would that be?
After being devastated by a deadly epidemic the world is now governed by hordes of living dead. Locked in a fortress that …read more

Video Vault: ‘How to Survive a Horror Movie’

CBS’s How to Survive a Horror Movie was an 18-episode, 1950’s style training video series that poked fun at some of the common cliches in horror movies, as well as a few movies themselves. The 2007 webisodes were written and co-directed by Seth Grahame-Smith who wrote the book of the same name. You probably know him better for his zombie opus, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies which is currently being raped by the likes of Natalie Portman in the upcoming feature film.
Some of the episodes don’t really push the envelope, but there are a few that are clever. Check out …read more

MTV Wants to Make a ‘Dawn of the Dead’ Series

That title should really read, ‘MTV is Bored and Wants to Rape One of My Favorite Films.’ Or, would you settle for ‘Does MTV Really Play Music Anymore?’ I think they all apply.
MTV is currently scheming ways to turn George A. Romero’s classic zombie flick, Dawn of the Dead, into a TV series. There are no other details at this time but isn’t this enough to make you want to Hulk smash everything in sight? MTV has stated that they’re interested in producing more things horror but are they doing it well? I didn’t see My Psycho Sweet 16 but …read more

Will You Boycott the End of the World?

Will You Boycott the End of the World?

Marcus is back with another game review.
Hands up if you signed the Left 4 Dead 2 boycott petition?  Thousands of us did–there’s no shame in admitting it. Actually, that’s not true; I’m happy to report shame is exactly what we should be feeling.
During E3 2009, Valve Software caught gamers off-guard by announcing the sequel to 2008’s zombie apocalypse co-op FPS Left 4 Dead. For many it was the icing on an already delicious cake, but for others it caused more than a rumble of concern. Many believed a full-blown sequel this early in the IP’s lifecycle was both overly ambitious …read more

New One Sheets for ‘The Crazies’ Remake

Even though I will never be able to forgive Brett Eisner for attempting to remake The Brood, I’m actually kind of interested in seeing his remake of The Crazies, which Overture Films is releasing February 26, 2010.
There are some new one sheet images floating around which I caught on Dread Central today. Check out this one which features a nasty looking pitchfork. Mmm. Pitchfork.
The remake of George A. Romero’s 1973 film stars Timothy Olyphant, Radha Mitchell, Joe Reegan, Danielle Panabaker, Joe Anderson and Justin Welborn. The original film tells the story an accidental release of a military biological weapon in an American …read more
