#4: Damien of The Omen
Ah, the Father of Lies spawned us the father of all brats. You can hardly go wrong with Satan as your pappy: you’re guaranteed some major street cred!
Yeah, I know Damien was a murderous little turd (even in real life, according to the director who despised the child actor) but hey: as in most cases, here it was clearly the PARENTS’ FAULT.

#5: The Brats of The Brood
See, this is why you should beware the words ‘experimental therapy.’ A neurotic young wife visits an ‘innovative’ psychiatrist to deal with her demons, and instead of just slapping her husband around in a healthy way of dealing with it, she instead is taught to spawn little demon creatures that represent her drama.
Of course the creatures go berserk and kill any adult that gets in their way, so the therapy isn’t a complete loss!
And of course, the film is notable for its use of the Scary Children In Footy Pajamas Device.

He’s an undead brat, but I love this little guy! You can read an in-depth panegyric of Zombie Baby that I wrote, here. There ain’t no baby like a Zombie Baby!

Ah, the great Larry Cohen. He directs this nasty little film that most people dismiss as a fun gore-fest. Actually the movie is a rather intelligent and brave social criticism of modern society, and a devastating look at the guilt parents feel when their baby is born with something ‘wrong’ with it. Luckily, all this intelligence doesn’t get in the way of a fun-filled gore-fest!

#9: Reagan from The Exorcist
I know, she was possessed, yeah yeah yeah. But still, she wouldn’t have been if she hadn’t been poking around in the attic like a brat, stealing Ouija Boards and using them for evil. Plus how dumb do you have to be to not realize something called ‘Captain Howdy’ is evil?
And then that whole sex with Jesus, and killing people thing…well, possessed or not, Reagan certainly deserves a spot on this list.
Besides which, I heard she grew up to be quite the drunken slut.

#10: The Children of…The Children
This sly little flick was on TV constantly when I was a tyke, and of course, I though it was ultra cool. Any film that had kids killing adults was always high in my book.
Some school kids get caught in the remnants of a nuclear spill, which naturally turns them into evil zombies with black fingernails. All the kids want to do now is…kill! Just one hug turns their victim into steaming mincemeat, and these kids love to make mincemeat.

#11: The Brats of Bloody Birthday
Oh, the wonderful 80s. Just try to get a movie about three 10-year olds killing off adults in gruesome ways greenlighted today. Ha. America needs the stick removed from its butt, pronto.
So anyhow, three cute tykes—Curtis, Debbie, and Steve—are born under a ‘bad sign’ during a solar eclipse, so of course become murdering hell-spawn. No word if the thousands of other people born on this day shared the same fate, but go with it.
