Paramount to Make ‘Talhotblond’ Based on Internet Sex-Murder Horror Story
December 11, 2009 by Alison
Internet horror stories are super scary sometimes, and often worse than an actual horror film.
Paramount Digital Entertainment wants to dig in on this action and announced that they have acquired the rights to the award-winning documentary talhotblond which is set to make its premiere on MSNBC December 13. The documentary will be available through download-to-own digital distributors (including iTunes & Amazon) following MSNBC’s broadcast.
talhotblond is the true story (and screen name) of a beautiful teenager who used Internet game rooms to lure men into her cyberspace web. When she discovers she’s been lied to by one of her victims, she …read more
Ti West Interview: ‘Dead & Lonely’ Stills and Exclusive Preview
October 20, 2009 by Alison
Yesterday I told you about Ti West’s latest project, Dead & Lonely set to premiere on IFC.com Monday, October 26 at Noon ET/PT. I spoke with Ti today to find out more about the web series which centers around two lonely Los Angeles singles(Justin Rice & Paige Stark), brought together via an Internet dating website, DateOrDie.net. Catch is, one of them is a vampire. West blends the classic vampire mythos with a tale of modern loneliness in this dark, comedic short.
I think the web series is a flexible and exciting new medium. What appeals to you about this format?

‘The Human Centipede: First Sequence’
September 6, 2009 by Alison
‘Body horror’, also known as ‘biological horror’, is nothing new. Most horror fans are familiar with David Cronenberg’s films that focus on mutation, degeneration and other fun stuff. Most recently Neill Blomkamp’s District 9 uses this type of horror to discuss xenophobia and apartheid. And now Dutch director Tom Six brings us The Human Centipede.
Two American girls (Ashley Williams & Ashlynn Yennie) become stranded during their travels and come across the home of Dr. Heiter (Dieter Laser), a leader in the field of conjoined twin surgery. He drugs, kidnaps and imprisons the girls, along with a Japanese man (Akihiro Kitamura), to create …read more

"Poltergeist" Remake’s Possible Director
A remake of the 1982 film, Poltergeist is in the works, courtesy of two writers, and now possibly a director, Vadim Perelman. Perelman is best known for directing the film, House of Sand and Fog, which stars Ben Kingsley and Jennifer Connelly.
Whether you love or hate remakes, you can’t deny the cultural impact this film has made.

October 21 is the 45th Anniversary of the original TV series, The Outer Limits. The series has made its mark in the sci-fi and horror genres, and given us more than a few nightmares over the years. It has perhaps made these genres what they are today.
MGM is celebrating this fall with its DVD release of all 49 episodes, from 1963 to 1965, in one complete box set, available on October 21.
Dark Knight’s "Curse" & Movie Curse’s Dismal Shadow
August 8, 2008 by Alexandra
It’s said that people of the Middle East refer to it as the evil eye, some call it a hex, and others just refer to it as a plain old curse.
Much has been speculated lately about the cast of the latest Dark Knight film, in light of some adverse events. From Heath Ledger’s death, to Morgan Freeman’s strange car accident, things could look a little suspicious to those of us who harbor superstitions. Do you believe in curses, and think there is a curse on the film?
Neil Gaiman Shares Top 10 Classic Monsters
July 23, 2008 by Alexandra
Science fiction and fantasy writer Neil Gaiman has weighed in with his Top 10 new Classic Monsters list. EW asked guest writers to contribute their own top 10 lists for the amazing special 100th issue.
I’m delighted with this match-up of Neil Gaiman and monsters! I should warn you, this is a somewhat contemporary list, and albeit accurate one as for me. In some instances I linked to the picture from the list. However, I also linked to a better image if it were available.
Some of his monsters may be the very ones that have been lurking in your own …read more
X-Files 2: New Trailer Scoop, Scully’s Hair & David’s Blog
July 8, 2008 by Alexandra
The latest X-Files 2 trailers are showing us some new info. I have to admit that in the quest to keep things hush hush, the second trailer is a bit short on new spoilers. Some new things you will notice are people who appear to be frozen in ice, a person running abnormally fast, some sort of creature leaping towards Mulder, and moments later, he raises his arm in a defensive posture. July 25, the release date, is not that far away, and I wonder if there will be any more trailer releases. We can probably wait for the …read more
