Dread Central teamed up with Home Media Magazine to host the Reaper Awards 2009 and the winners will be announced tonight at the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. The ‘Grimmys’ will be awarded to the best DVDs and Blu-ray discs of the year. This includes cult classics, modern blockbusters and direct-to-video favorites (wholly underappreciated!).
Some of this year’s judges included a selection of the finest fiends from places like Fangoria, Bloody-Disgusting and Rue Morgue.
Voting was up to the fans, who chose their favorites between September 1 and October 1. Here’s a little bit more about tonight’s venue:

It’s time for a quick Screamstress poll! There are those of us who make sure we catch the latest horror film each week, and yet ratings for paranormal series such as Ghost Hunters have literally cracked the ratings meters at Sci-Fi Network.
