A little over a month ago, Famous Monsters of Filmland announced that they were rising from the ashes once more after closing the book back in 1983–191 issues deep. This was truly a sad day for fans, many who had followed the magazine since its inception in 1958 with Warren Publishing. Editor Forrest J. Ackerman enthusiastically approached every issue about the classic monsters he loved like the Wolfman and King Kong. Cinematic Tribute to ‘Creepy’ at Monsterpalooza
Warren Publishing, a group known for creating some amazing horror anthologies, has become the subject of a “cinematic tribute” at the Los Angeles event, Monsterpalooza. Warren’s magazine, Creepy, will be a highlight of the convention, which runs from April 9 – 11 in Burbank, California. Paramount Dropping ‘Paranormal Activity’

DreamWorks/Paramount acquired Oren Peli’s Paranormal Activity with the intent of remaking it but I guess someone came to their senses and realized Peli’s flick was terrifying enough, as is. It’s not often you hear about something like this and it has me tickled.
Paranormal Activity is about a young couple who suspects their house is haunted by a malevolent entity, so they set up video surveillance to capture the evidence. The film has gotten awesome reviews by everyone across the board. I can’t wait to see it!

The Big Apple is having a Comic-Con October 16-18!

Lionsgate previewed this new poster for Saw VI today. You like?
If you’re at Comic-Con on Thursday visit the Lionsgate booth (#3729) for a free poster and to preview the Saw videogame which releases on October 6th for Playstation 3 and X Box. The first 100 people will be able to win a ticket for an exclusive Saw VI poster signing with Costas Mandylor (Detective Hoffman) and Betsy Russell (Jill Kramer) at 2 PM.

Freddy at Comic-Con

Brad Fuller, producer for the Nightmare on Elm Street remake, has been keeping fans up to date on Twitter. He tweeted a week ago that the movie officially wrapped and posted these set photos of Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner and director Samuel Bayer.
If you’re going to San Diego’s Comic-Con next week, be on the lookout for Jackie Earle Haley in full Freddy makeup. Just a few days ago, Fuller tweeted, ”comic con is looking good. I can tell you this for sure- Freddy will be there.”
A Nightmare on Elm Street is due to be released on April 16, 2010.
Serious Update To Supernatural at Comic-Con 2008

In case you haven’t heard, there’s been an update regarding the Supernatural panel at Comic-Con 2008. The panel will still be held on Sunday, July 27, from 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM in Room 6CDEF.
However, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki will do their autograph session on Saturday, July 26 from 5:00-6:00 PM in the Warner Bros. booth on the main convention floor. Here’s the schedule thus far:
