If ‘Buffy the Vampire’s’ Faith and Buffy Had a Baby…

If ‘Buffy the Vampire’s’ Faith and Buffy Had a Baby…

I’ve always been fascinated by twins and other strange anomalies of nature. When Buffy the Vampire star Alyson Hannigan (Willow) posted this picture on her Twitter account, I got totally spooked.

Alyson wrote of the picture, “If Eliza and Sarah were combined into one person…” Yep, that looks like Alyson standing next to a Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Faith (Eliza Dushku) hybrid. And what are the chances of randomly meeting someone like that? Bizarro world!
Maybe Joss Whedon can recover from Dollhouse sadness by casting this chick in a new Buffy script. It seemed to be the only show that didn’t …read more

Meet The Other Creatures of ‘Dark Shadows’

Meet The Other Creatures of ‘Dark Shadows’

I gave you a hint about this in July and today I am beyond excited by the news that Tim Burton has officially signed on for a remake of the popular vampire soap opera, Dark Shadows–set to film in 2010. Equally exciting but not surprising is confirmation of Johnny Depp in the role of lead vampire Barnabas Collins. I’m sure we’ll be seeing some of the other usual suspects and that’s ok by me. I haven’t raced to the theater for any Burton films as of late but I have faith that the spooky visionary can do something imaginative with …read more

Exclusive Interview With David Richmond-Peck From ‘V’

Exclusive Interview With David Richmond-Peck From ‘V’

When the TV series V hit the air in 1983, it quickly established itself as the thinking man’s sci-fi–an allegorical and creative imagining that combined suspense, action and philosophical drama (with a nice helping of cheese thrown in for good measure). It was easy to ignore the low production value for a great story that at its heart was very human despite the alien theme. This is the very reason I feel confident posting an ultimately sci-fi themed topic on a horror website.
Aside from being smart and seriously entertaining, there are many reasons that the show appealed to horror audiences. …read more

V TV: Vincent Price Video Bonanza

No Halloween is complete without seeing, hearing or watching something with Vincent Price. The man is a horror legacy and yesterday I shared a special video I found called Read, Write and Draw with Vincent Price. The show appeared on the Disney Channel in 1988 and ended in 1990, three years before his death. It may surprise some of you that Price attended Yale School of Art and owned an extensive collection of works which were eventually turned into the Vincent Price Art Gallery. The gallery still thrives today and contains over 2,000 pieces.
Vincent Price loved to make appearances on …read more

‘Millennium’ Postcard Campaign – Get Involved!

‘Millennium’ Postcard Campaign – Get Involved!

You may remember me telling you about the possibility of a Millennium movie. Well, the Back to Frank Black team who revealed this exciting tidbit is now running a postcard campaign to get fans of the show involved.

Very smart campaign if you ask me and not unlike the recent fan promotion surrounding Paranormal Activity.
Millennium starred Lance Henriksen as ex-FBI Special Agent Frank Black, who could see through the eyes of serial killers and murderers. The subversive Millennium Group was a main thread throughout the series, whose mysterious intentions are finally revealed.
To get involved in bringing Millennium to the big screen, all …read more

"The Last House on the Left" – Preview & Trailer

The original version of "The Last House on the Left," directed by Wes Craven, came out in 1972. Now there’s a new version of the slasher film directed by Dennis Iliadis, due out sometime in 2009.
Here’s the scoop: The night she arrives at the remote Collingwood lake house, Mari (Sara Paxton) and her friend are kidnapped by a prison escapee and his crew.  Terrified and left for dead, Mari’s only hope is to make it back to parents John and Emma (Tony Goldwyn and Monica Potter).  Unfortunately, her attackers unknowingly seek shelter at the one place she could be …read more

"The Spirit" – Masked Avenger Meets Bad Girls?

"The Spirit" – Masked Avenger Meets Bad Girls?

Whether it’s the boy-wonder looking mask of the protagonist (ok it’s a little different..), the Frank Miller-esque directorial style, or the strange-looking character named Octopus that Samuel L. Jackson portrays, you have to love The Spirit. The film debuts in theatres on December 25, 2008.
Whether it has more heroic or supernatural aspects, I can’t help but wonder why there are so many beautiful female characters here. Check out the trailer above, and the short snippets below from the women of The Spirit and director Frank Miller.

It’s the latest new film written and directed by Miller, based on the …read more

Joss Whedon’s Latest Horrors

Joss Whedon’s Latest Horrors

Writer/Director Joss Whedon has a new greenlit project, Cabin In The Woods. So far no word on actual plot or cast, but we do know the script was co-written by Joss Whedon, the film is to be directed by Drew Goddard, and it is set for release on October 23, 2009.
This is Whedon’s possibly brief return to horror, and definitely worth a look.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer might be headed our way via the big screen according to some press at Moviehole.net  Cast members had only envisioned a “return” to the story if there was possibility of a big …read more
