"Buffy" Cast Reunite For Celebration…Not An Episode

by Alexandra on March 27th, 2008

Joss Whedon, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Seth Green, Emma Caufield, and others were at the Paley Center For Media which was honoring and celebrating the TV series, Buffy The Vampire Slayer. The creation of this show was the pinnacle of horror television with its vampire theme, and it set the TV industry on fire, all from a little known network at the time called The WB. You can see all of this in an awesome video interview.

It was nice to see these guys together, although I didn’t see David Boreanaz in sight. Michelle Trachtenberg (Dawn) was there, and she talked about how long it had been since they were all in the same room together. Emma Caufield (Anya) revealed how some of them had personal drama going on in the midst of being a part of this great show. I think she was overwhelmed at how so much time has passed, and so am I.

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Seth Green both agreed they never anticipated the series would have such a huge impact. Sarah said her favorite episode was the one called “Silent” because she anticipated it would be easy to do. In actuality, it was “the hardest thing” she had ever done. Seth says his really cool favorite moment is not an episode per se, but when the show got to put on a prom, and “all the girls showed up covered in dirt”.

Nicholas Brendon (Xander) was on hand and talked about his wonderful fans. My favorite character is portrayed by Charisma Carpenter and she had a few words to say about her favorite season, and the series Angel. You can see the full video interview here at Fearnet.

It would be great if they got together for a Buffy cast reunion episode for fans, but that’s a wish I think many have. The actors are all doing great work in their careers, and could not have done so were the show to last much longer. Bravo to them!
