The Screamstress - Horror & Paranormal

Bloody Good Holiday Entertainment

by Rhys on December 26th, 2005

Gag. ‘The Christmas Story’ is being shown through December, and ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ is being aired into January.

Aren’t you sick of this holiday schlock? Me too. But never fear: I’m here to provide you with some worthy holiday entertainment! So stop by your favorite video store, or send off an order to Netflix, to get these holiday classics. Then curl up on the couch with a loved one (or your collection of severed heads) and enjoy!

(All titles link to that movie’s imdb page, so you can find out all kinds of grisly info. before you watch it.)

The Screamstress recommends:

Black Christmas

If this movie doesn’t make your skin crawl… It’s On Too Tight!

Nifty tagline, and an absolute horror classic and masterpiece. Black Christmas is unfairly overlooked, especially when people give credit to John Carpenter’s Halloween for horror movie innovations. Guess what, folks? If it’s in Halloween, Black Christmas did it first! Let’s see some respect here!

Silent Night, Deadly Night

You’ve made it through Halloween, now try and survive Christmas.

The most famous holiday slasher ever made, and with good reason. Bad, bad Santa!

Jack Frost

He’s chillin’…and killin’

C’mon, a killer snowman! What more do you need to know?

These last two aren’t must-sees, unless you’re a hardcore horror fan:

Christmas Evil

He’ll slay you.

Okay once the kills get going. Finally.

Don’t Open ‘Til Christmas

…t’was the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring…they were all dead!
Rather boring, but worth including for the kick-butt tagline alone.

Enough with the mistletoe and tinkling bells…let’s crank up some chainsaws and really celebrate! Happy Horror-days!
