Ani-Monday’s Anime Monsters on "Tactics"
Good anime has always had a place in my heart, and if it includes demons and monsters, all the better. Consider Tactics, a series which is a part of Sci-Fi channel’s Ani-Monday, a block of programming which features 2 hours of anime on Monday nights.
Tactics is a very intelligent series, which manages to weave the supernatural with Japanese folklore in a very unique way.
The series Tactics is based on a manga series created by Sakura Kinoshita and Kazuko Higashiyama. The story follows a young man (Kantaro) who has the ability to see spirits or demons. He is a folklorist and demon exorcist. He later befriends a demon eating goblin (tengu) named Haruka who was sealed beneath some boulders in the mountains. Haruka and Kantaro go on adventures together, with each 30 minute episode being a monster of the week type plot.
Their relationship is complicated because Haruka cannot remember who sealed him away, but is pledged to help Kantaro. Some evil forces plot to make Haruka use his full powers, which would cause him to be captured by the mysterious person who sealed him away in the first place.
There are other characters, such as Yoko, the young woman who lives with Kantaro who is actually a fox in human form, and Rosalie, an orphan who is easily possessed by spirits. Also because Kantaro is a writer, he is sometimes hounded by various editors about deadlines, which lead to some funny moments. You can catch Tactics on Monday nights, at 11:00 PM on Sci-Fi as long as it’s a part of Ani-Monday.

I have been watching this show on Ani-Monday almost every monday night for a while now and am really enjoying it.
I have been trying to find more screen shots/pics of it but can’t really find any - particularly of Rosalie…anyone know where to get some good ones?

I’ve been a fan of Tactics ever since I just happened to rent the DVD just because it was an anime. And I’m even starting to buy the mangas too. I would buy the DVD’s, but they’re too expensive. I don’t know where to buy them for cheap. Help anyome?

Hatake_Kunami, you should try Amazon.com. The image of the DVD cover in my post is a link to it, & they have new and used ones there. ;)
