New One Sheets for ‘The Reeds’, ‘Lake Mungo’ and ‘The Violent Kind’

January 6, 2010 by Alison

The After Dark Horrorfest 4 lineup is almost upon us (opening January 29) and The Reeds and Lake Mungo both have some new one sheets to celebrate with.

TheReeds

LakeMungo

The Reeds takes six friends on a deadly weekend boating trip through the Norfolk Broads and Lake Mungo is a supernatural mystery surrounding the drowning of a young girl. I’ll be anxious to find out if this one is as similar to Twin Peaks as it sounds. Bob wouldn’t like that.

Bloody-Disgusting also premiered this new one sheet for The Violent Kind, which makes its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. In the film a group of rowdy, young bikers party it up at a secluded farmhouse when, tormented by a mysterious force, things take a turn for the worst. The cast includes Taylor Cole, Christina Prousalis, scream queen hottie Tiffany Shepis, David Fine and Joseph McKelheer.

Sundance, Slamdance… I’m green with envy. If you’re going take me with you, ok?

I reviewed Lake Mungo semi recently- and have to say that this poster is really really REALLY awful because it takes the movie in a completely different direction. The entire movie is documentary style- it’s so realistic and biting and this poster just turns it into another “thriller”. It disheartens me!! And I fear the movie will not do well based on people’s expectations due to this poster. The movie is AMAZING by the way.

huh…i’m really glad you said that because i think my interest was fading fast. i’ll be sure to check it out based on your rec now though!
