New Cast Members for ‘The Vampire Diaries’

The Vampire Diaries returns to The CW on January 21 with several new cast members.

Mia Kirshner (The L Word) will be playing the role of Isobel, the sweet and dangerous wife of Matt Davis’s history teacher, Alaric. Gina Torres (Firefly) will appear as a witch named Bree and Brandon Quinn (Entourage) plays Lee, who has a score to settle with vampire Damon.

Spoiler alert:

Isobel will reportedly only appear in flashbacks because she is dead, according to MTV’s blog. It’s hinted that the vampire brothers are to blame for her death and that Alaric is in town to seek revenge. Also, there are still no more clues as to who is the vampire-killing history buff.

I tried to watch the series but lost interest quickly so if you’re a fan let me know why I should perhaps give it another try. In the meantime, check out this preview below.
