‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ Reshoot and ‘Friday the 13th 3D’ Updates

Brad Fuller updated the official Platinum Dunes blog today with some news about the Nightmare on Elm Street reshoots and the upcoming Friday the 13th 3D flick.

Reviews for the remake were mixed after a round of test-screenings and PD set out to shoot additional scenes. Apparently, the scene involves a diner where Nancy works but there was no clue as to whether this would clear up any plot confusion. Fuller wasn’t ready to let the cat out of the bag just yet. “I don’t want to get specific about what we are shooting, but suffice to say we heard you. After you’ve seen the film we can discuss what was reshot,” he said on the Bloody-Disgusting blog. Reshoots aren’t always a big deal as Fuller explains, “Elm Street is our 8th film and we’ve had reshoots for every film. As I have stated here many times, I try to read everything and I pay attention.” So in other words, the man is on top of it!

Fuller goes on to discuss the upcoming Friday the 13th: Part 2 3D project.

“The script is great- dare I say, better than the first. Shannon and Swift have outdone themselves. We are working with New Line to get that movie going. I had hoped to be able to tell you that we started prepping the movie, but that isn’t the case. We are hoping that New Line decides get us started early next year.”

We’ll see!

A Nightmare on Elm Street, directed by Samuel Bayer, stars Jackie Earle Haley (Freddy), Kyle Gallner, Thomas Dekker, Rooney Mara, Kellan Lutz, Katie Cassidy, Connie Britton and my boyfriend Clancy Brown. The film opens in theaters April 30, 2010.
