V TV: Vincent Price Video Bonanza

November 1, 2009 by Alison

No Halloween is complete without seeing, hearing or watching something with Vincent Price. mrpphotos195109-Vincent-PriceThe man is a horror legacy and yesterday I shared a special video I found called Read, Write and Draw with Vincent Price. The show appeared on the Disney Channel in 1988 and ended in 1990, three years before his death. It may surprise some of you that Price attended Yale School of Art and owned an extensive collection of works which were eventually turned into the Vincent Price Art Gallery. The gallery still thrives today and contains over 2,000 pieces.

Vincent Price loved to make appearances on television and never took himself too seriously. He appeared on many popular comedy shows like The Brady Bunch, The Carol Burnett Show and The Dean Martin Comedy Hour. Aside from his interest in art he was a gourmet cook, a quiz show lover, author and often donated his famous voice to many artistic endeavours.

I am posting several videos featuring Vincent Price in the spirit of fun and in honor of a man well loved by many in the horror community and beyond.

Happy Halloween Mr. Price.

RIP Vincent Leonard Price II (May 27, 1911 – October 25, 1993)
