‘2012′ Trailer Brings the Carnage
October 13, 2009 by Alison
While Roland Emmerich’s new film 2012 is not necessarily being toted as a horror flick, I can’t pass up posting something all apocalypty in nature. Emmerich has brought us films like Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow so expect over the top special effects annihilating the planet.
Never before has a date in history been so significant to so many cultures, so many religions, scientists, and governments. 2012 is an epic adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world and tells of the heroic struggle of the survivors.
2012 stars John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Danny Glover, Thandie Newton, Oliver Platt (Year One. Really?), Amanda Peet, Thomas McCarthy and Woody Harrelson. Death and destruction is coming to a theater near you November 13, 2009.
At a recent press junket Emmerich revealed that he has the story set for Independence Day 2 but budget concerns are holding things up. He’s trying to keep Will Smith on board, which will cost him an arm and a leg. “…Will is a gross player and is probably the only gross player right now who’s worth his gross. So we’ll see what happens. I would love to do it,” says Emmerich.
