Eli Roth Picks ‘Cotton’, Not ‘Hostel III’
August 9, 2009 by Alison
Eli Roth has decided not to participate in Hostel III but is producing a new feature, Cotton. The film is
about a troubled evangelical minister who turns against religion and agrees to let his last exorcism be filmed by a documentary crew. You can expect it to be in the vein of Cloverfield and Blair Witch Project. The film is directed by Daniel Stamm (A Necessary Death), and Patrick Fabian stars as Cotton Marcus, the minister.
Cotton will make its way to theaters January 2010.

I think Roth taking a break from kidnapping and torturing vacationers is a good thing. torture-porn gets old after a while and we do have Saw to satiate those apetites. Exorcisms are always fun, exciting and inevitably go wrong in the movies. heads spinning, people being impaled, and general bad-assery makes them really interesting. I think it is time for some good old-fashioned priest vs. demon action. When can I buy a ticket?
hopefully they will nail the date down soon. i wasn’t a huge fan of ‘hostel’ so we’ll see what eli roth can do with this one!
Patrick Fabian’s film name in “Cotton”
is Cotton Marcus, not Cotton Mather.
I had the privilege of playing his
father in the film. Patrick is one
heckuva fine actor!
thanks for the update and i look forward to seeing you in the film!
