After Dark Horrorfest Announces First Addition

July 20, 2009 by Alison

The Graves will be the first addition to the After Dark Horrorfest, joining the 8 Films to Die For lineup.  The Graves is written and directed by Brian Pulido who you may recognize as the writer and creator of comics such as Lady Death (totally hot) and Evil Ernie.  This will be Pulido’s directorial debut.  The film stars Clare Grant, Jillian Murray, Bill Moseley, Lamb of God singer D. Randall Blythe and Tony Todd, of Candyman fame.  After Dark Films released this statement about the movie:

In The Graves, two inseparable sisters, Megan and Abby Graves, are taking one last wild road trip before Megan has to start a new job.  The journey includes a trip through remote Arizona in search of a kitchy roadside attraction. Instead, Megan and Abby happen on Skull City Mine, a weather-beaten, abandoned mine town converted into a self-guided tour.  What seems like a fun day in the sun turns into a mind-bending fight for survival against menaces both human and supernatural.

After Dark Horrorfest 4 runs for one week in theaters across the United States from January 29 to February 5 2010, making it the largest nationwide film festival.

Earlier this year it was announced that After Dark Films is partnering with Lionsgate and IFC to co-produce for television the best selling book series, Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, written by Laurell K. Hamilton.

This is one vampire series I never got around to reading.  Is it worth the hype?
