Ghostbusters III: Will Script Bring Sequel Magic?
September 6, 2008 by Alexandra
In the continuing saga of “everything comes back”, someone has figured out that the only way Ghostbusters can return is with as much of the original cast as possible. Check out the trailer for the original 1994 movie.
This is the plan that Columbia has chosen to bring us Ghostbusters III. Office writers and producers Gene Stupinsky and Lee Eisenberg are tapped to pen the script.
However, since no script has been written, there’s no certainty what roles the original cast members will play. The studio is hoping for Bill Murray and Dan Akroyd to return.
Can this installment woo a whole new generation of fans, and fans of the first two films? We’ve seen time and again that a classic is either remade or sequaled, and as fans, have been thoroughly disappointed. Erik over at Cinematical has a list of Ways to Make a Cool “Ghostbusters” Sequel. I especially like his points of keeping the CGI to a minimum, and shooting for a hard PG-13 rating so that kids and adults alike can enjoy it.
