"Quarantine" Infects Theatres in October
August 27, 2008 by Alexandra
Can you say contagion? John Erick Dowdle’s latest film, Quarantine, seems to offer the best of both worlds…the dark diseased world of infection…similar to that of the 28 Days Later/28 Weeks Later movies, and the tense style of Cloverfield a la “camera found after the fact” depicting the horrors that ensue. Quarantine hits the theatres on October 10, 2008.
All the horror seems to stay “contained” inside an apartment building, as a television reporter who is on assignment with the fire department ends up trapped with her cameraman inside the building after riding to a call.
This film even has the CDC involved, which means there’s a lot at stake. Actors Jennifer Carpenter (…Emily Rose) and Steve Harris will no doubt make us care about their characters, as well as the residents of the apartment building. Other stars include horror hottie Johnathon Schaech.
Produced by Doug Davison, this film has been rated “R” for bloody, violent and disturbing content, terror and language, …and just in time for October. Bring it on! I’m actually quite excited about this, as Jennifer Carpenter still gives me the “bejeebers” from The Haunting of Emily Rose.
