"Disaster Movie" Trailer – Not What You’d Expect

Based on many of the movies we’ve been seeing these past few months (Cloverfield, The Happening), the world is in peril.  Check out the teaser trailer for Disaster Movie here.

Thankfully there is a lighter look at the end of the world (or so I thought) with Disaster Movie, directed by Jason Freidberg and Aaron Seltzer. You can check out the extended promo trailer at the MySpace trailer for Disaster Movie. Note the film is to release nationwide on August 29, 2008. You have to see it, as it’s not what you’d expect!

In Disaster Movie, a group of 20 somethings are confronted with the end of the world via a series of natural catastrophes and disastrous events in one day. The stars of this comedic event are Carmen Electra, Kim Kardashian, Matt Lanter, and Nicole Parker.

So far, the trend in these spoof movies has been to remake scenes from real movies, and make them totally hilarious. I expected spoofs of actual disaster movies, but in this, we see spoofs of Juno, Sex And The City, Iron Man, and The Hulk, among others.

Yes, this sounds like it’s along the same lines as Scary Movie, Epic Movie, Date Movie, and Meet The Spartans. Maybe the movie does have some epic funny disaster scenes, but on first look at the trailer, not so much.
