Gene Simmons’ "House of Horrors" Debut This Week

April 10, 2008 by Alexandra

If you ask rock legend Gene Simmons about horror, he’ll tell you that he never missed an episode of Twilight Zone. Does that make him twisted, intelligent, or both? If you ask IDW Publishing, they’ll probably tell you that he’s a freaking genius that’s making a huge impact in the horror comic world.

Gene Simmons is causing a creative uprising with his new project, The Gene Simmons House of Horrors. More details after the jump!

The project is essentially a three issue quarterly, filled with some critically acclaimed art work, and with stories that range from gore to psychological thrillers, based on horror, fantasy and sci-fi. It sounds like a wonderfully strange mix for like-minded horror and graphic novel fans. Gene’s son and co-star of their reality show, Gene Simmons Family Jewels, Nick Simmons, will contribute as well. Nick is no slouch either when it comes to comics, as he’s created one called Skullduggery. (Check out Nick’s Official MySpace!)

Each story is drawn independently, yet studded with Simmons’ personal commentary. It will also feature professional talent, and introduce new talent via the decision to showcase the best upcoming work in the comic industry.

If you thought that Simmons was just a reality TV star, and rocker, think again, as he’s multi-faceted. Many probably see this as a very successful project, as he exhibits the qualities of a true fan. The Gene Simmons House of Horrors is in stores now.

Gene Simmons just never stops being creative! I like him even more now that we get to see him interact with his kids.

And his son is an amazing talent as well!

Cherie, I used to think Gene was awesome as just a rocker, but he seems to be incredibly intelligent. (I guess that doesn’t play well in the media for rockers.)

I listened to some audio of Gene as he was on a talk show, commenting about Britney Spears, and he had some profound comments. I’ll have to find the video for it. If his son follows in his steps, I think he’ll be even more successful.
