The CW Gets Scary This Summer With "13"
Can a marriage of reality and horror be successful this summer? The CW is asking that question as a new eight episode series called “13″ will air.
With executive production by Jay Bienstock (Survivor), Ghost House Picture’s Sam Raimi (Spiderman, The Evil Dead Films), Robert Tapert (The Evil Dead films, The Grudge films), and Ghost House Picture’s Joe Drake and Nathan Kahane producing, this series obviously has some amazing talent behind it. They also plan to scare the hell out of us obviously.
Horror contestants will go on a journey while being frightened out of their wits via challenges and games designed to scare and teach. What can you learn from being scared? That’s the question that will be answered each week.
According to CW’s President of Entertainment, Dawn Ostroff, “…the challenges will play into our deepest fears and anxieties and will reveal things the contestants never knew about themselves.”
It sounds a lot more compelling and on much more of a grand scale than other shows such as MTV’s Room 401. I love being scared, and am totally excited about this series. I think The CW has taken a good step in revealing what scares us in this way. I’m awfully frightened for the contestants already. How would you feel if you were put into a real live horror movie?
