Ellen Page’s "Get Out of Hell" Card

Ellen Page wont be driven down to hell, for anyone. Not even Sam Raimi.

Page was cast for the lead role in his film, entitled Drag Me To Hell, a film about an unsuspecting person who becomes “cursed”.

Her absence is due to scheduling conflicts for two other movies, one being Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut, entitled Whip It. Producers were rushing to get production started, but things were delayed due to the possibility of the SAG strike back in June. I was so looking forward to seeing how this Juno gal fares as a new horror hottie.

All is not lost, as Alison Lohman (Things We Lost In the Fire) will take the lead. According to her IMDB profile, Alison had a small role in Kevin Costner’s movie, Dragonfly, as a cancer patient. However, her scenes were later cut. She had shaved her head, so in her next role (Astrid Magnussen in White Oleander) she had to wear wigs throughout filming. That’s some dedication to the craft, and we look forward to seeing it. Raimi’s film is set to debut in 2009.
