In The Blood

Sometimes, you don’t realize just *how much* you are of something, until…well, you realize how much *you are.*

My hubby (the fabulous T.S.) and I recently moved to Oregon from Florida. After having spent a lifetime of never having seen snow, we just couldn’t wait any more, and this afternoon we cheated and went driving to the mountains to see some of the white stuff.

And there it was: we got out of the car and stared in awe at the endless white vista, snowflakes tickling our eyelids, dark green trees crusted over with silvery spangles.

And we spoke of our wonder at the magic:

T.S.: Wow, amazing. It’s beautiful.

Me: It’s great! I feel like I’m in The Shining!

Yes, that was indeed the first thought that came into my head. Well…I guess there’s a reason I’m writing this blog.
