#8: Family Reunion in The Dorm That Dripped Blood
The title alone makes it kewl enough for this list. The Dorm That Dripped Blood, aka Death Dorm, aka Pranks, is a pretty decent college campus slasher flick.
Our kewl scene comes right at the beginning of the movie. Some students are staying behind on the Christmas holiday to help prepare their beloved dorm for renovation. Cute lil’ Debbie wants to stay, but has to leave for a family vacation. Too bad Daphne Zuniga wasn’t a star yet; maybe she would have lived.
So, Mom and Dad arrive at the dorm. But, they never get to see the inside. Bam! Dad gets clobbered with a spiked baseball bat. Then Slice! Mom gets strangled by a wire.
Debbie wanders out and finds their bodies. Understandably horrified, she faints at the grisly sight. Which should mean she’s safe…usually, when people faint in a horror movie, the killer usually leaves them alone, right?
Not this time, buster!
The killer drags poor, unconscious Debbie to the car and places her behind the tires. He then puts the car in reverse, and Crunch! Debbie’s bones are sawdust.
This makes the list because of the unexpected final murder, the relatively creative methods, and because the killer is just so thorough. There’s a guy who takes his job seriously.
